helpING OTHER LatinOS To become their better selves.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified psychoanalytic psychotherapist.

I’m originally from Colombia and came to the USA as an exchange student in college some twenty years ago. Like many other fellow immigrants, a year turned into life time and I made Minnesota my home. I pursued the profession I had started in my home country graduating with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services and later specializing in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I have worked in the Latino community for over nineteen years, the last eight years in clinical private practice.

I am experienced working with issues such as:

  • Latinx family dynamics

  • Racial Identity

  • Life transitions

  • Cultural oppression

  • Intergenerational Trauma

  • Colonized thinking

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Impostor Syndrome

  • Effects of racism

  • Relationships

  • Immigration

  • Adjustment struggles

  • Identity conflict

  • Family of origin

  • Insecurity

  • Low self-esteem

MY MISSION

To contribute to successful social outcomes of our community by providing services, which will enhance its members psychological health and quality of life; give them a sense of power, self-love and appreciation, social belonging, social justice, and mastery of psychological traumas either social, cultural, family or interpersonal induced.

Empowering
Latinx

Empowering Latinx to bring themselves forward to live confidently and face the world with all its challenges and its beauty.

Promoting social
justice

Promoting social justice through the Latinx community, and encouraging its members to leave their mark on the entire community by means of their talents, their values and traditions.

Healing psychological
wounds

Healing the psychological wounds of social injustice and socio-cultural trauma one person at a time.

I make it intentional to bring who I am,  the immigrant in me, the Afro-Latina in me, the Colombian in me, the Latina Mother in me, the woman in me, to share with and to affect others around me. Because by being me, and being known, I’m claiming back my place and power and contributing to the making of a pluralistic and just community.
